Welcome to Oamaru and the Waitaki.

Our patch stretches from the top of the Southern Alps to a 150km stretch of Pacific Ocean coastline in the middle of the South Island of New Zealand. The mighty Waitaki River along our northern border provides for power generation, farming, irrigation and recreation. That’s where we are. It’s a place of surprises.

We have a small, steadily growing population of enthusiastic people who enjoy themselves; we have good business growth, rapidly expanding tourism and a demand for labour both skilled and unskilled. We have quality of life, room to move and space to grow.
